California Fire Relief for Potters and Artists

The CZU Lightning Complex fires have devastated San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties. Three friends who have appeared on the show have lost their homes to the fires. Please donate at the links below to help them get back on their feet.

Jon and Liz Payne - Boulder Creek, CA -

“Jon and Liz bought the House on the Hill with the vision of building a community of friends.  As many of you know, their home was more than a house, more than a music studio, more than a ceramics studio… It was a sanctuary and community for musicians and artists to gather together, share their craft, record new music and build lasting friendships. Their house was a vision, a dream, their slice of absolute paradise in a sunny pasture deep in the redwood forest.”

Sam and Sarah Clarkson- Bonny Doon, CA

“My family and at least ten Families who I am close to have lost their homes completely in the CZU firestorm- as soon as we can get into our properties, get permits and clearance from insurance companies, we need to clean our properties and prepare to build again. I will purchase an Excavator, and no fees will be charged to homeowners other than fuel and possibly a driver's hourly fee.  A small group already owned, or have already procured two diesel trucks, a dump trailer, and a skid steer.  This equipment will subsequently be sold and the money donated to disaster relief somewhere else.”

Andy Ruble- Sawtooth Canyon, CA

“The property, which has been in the family for generations, contained numerous structures, including a main house that his great-grandfather designed and built. Andy and his father, the photographer Gary Ruble, use the ranch as their residence roughly 50-75 percent of the time, so it's a big hit. They've also learned that their fire insurance will cover just a fraction of the cost to rebuild. Please help these two longtime Bay Area artists and teachers get started on the rebuild in Sawtooth Canyon.”
